I'm Emánuel Dávid Tukacs, an independent insurance intermediary – a broker. jogvedelem.biz was created because legal expenses insurance is an unduly little-known product in Hungary: most people first hear about it once they are already in a dispute – when, typically, cover can no longer be taken out for it. This site wants to change that: to explain in plain words what legal protection is for, what it can do, and what it cannot. I work in person in Budapest and Kecskemét if you wish, and online and by phone nationwide.
I'm a broker – not a lawyer
It's worth clarifying this right at the start. As an insurance broker, I help you find the right insurance cover for your legal risks: I assess your needs, request and compare offers from several insurers, and explain the options – the decision is always yours. I do not give legal advice, and I do not represent you as a lawyer in an actual legal dispute: that is what the lawyer funded through the legal expenses insurance, or the insurer's legal advice helpline, is for. Wherever this site touches on a legal topic, it is always explaining the insurance product, not giving legal advice.
How I work
I carry out the broker activity in the name of, and as the appointed representative of, Eurorisk Biztosítási Alkusz Kft.; the broker engagement is concluded with Eurorisk Kft., which also bears responsibility for the intermediary activity. The work starts with a 20-minute conversation: what you do, what disputes you're exposed to, what would fit your budget. I then hand over the relevant insurers' legal expenses offers in a single, easy-to-read table – with modules, limits, waiting periods, and the rules on choice of lawyer – strengths and weaknesses included. I charge no fee for the advice: the intermediary's remuneration is paid by the insurer. You can still come to me with questions after the policy is signed: on request, I review the contract again, and if a case stalls or becomes disputed, as broker I help where I can.

I carry out this activity as a partner of Eurorisk Biztosítási Alkusz Kft., which has operated in the Hungarian market since 1993 (licence number: 332/1993 ÁBIF); its broker activity is currently carried out under the licence and supervision of the Magyar Nemzeti Bank.
